Integrity.
Integrity is a powerful
word. Yes it means honesty, but it also means following through on your
word. It means having genuine concern for others. Being able to
have integrity is something that I need to continue to strive for. It is
not something that I can say that I have achieved it and then not worry about
any more. I need to keep working on developing my integrity every day.
I am either increasing or decreasing my level of integrity. It is a
fluid thing. Having made some commitments this week will help me to
maintain my integrity. Making statements about what I will and will not
do, goes a long way in helping me decide in advance what my decisions will be
when confronted. Here is the list that I
have made that will help to guide me in my decisions so that I can focus on the
complicated issues because the situations listed below have already been
decided upon.
1. I
will never be unfaithful to my wife.
2. I
will never use drugs or alcohol.
3. I
will never intentionally harm another person.
4. I
will never cheat another person, regardless of setting.
5. I
will never steal.
6. I
will always pay my tithing.
7. I
will always be a good example to my children.
8. I
will always work hard to provide for my family.
9. I
will always work to create value in any occupation that I have.
I look forward to being
able to demonstrate my integrity to others. At times it seems very
simplistic the choices that I am making, but I look at how others are
struggling with the same choices and I realize that is because they have not
made a decision in advance as to what they would do.
